The Jazz Band will operate providing all members attend ALL rehearsals.
The Big Band will consist of the following instrumentation:
2 Alto Saxophones, 2 Tenor Saxophones, 1 Baritone Saxophone
4-5 Trumpets, 4 Trombones
1 Bass Guitar, 1 Electric Guitar, 1 Piano, 1 Drum Set, 1 Percussionist (if needed), 1 Vibraphone
Additional instruments may include flute & clarinet. These instruments will be allowed by audition only.
Providing a full instrumentation the Big Band will perform several concerts including the Holiday Concert, Spring Concert and Grosse Ile's JazzFest (during their Islandfest) in late May/early June 2010 which features several local high school jazz ensembles.
